First off, let me just say that I love this laptop. Coming from a pentium 4 5-6 year old machine, is blazing fast. But I have 2 major problems.

First off, the synaptics drivers for the touchpad create keyboard lag. So when I uninstall them it fixed it, however, that makes it so I cannot disable the touchpad while i am ingame playin tf2, or typing up report. The touchpad is right in the way during both activities. I was wondering if there were third party drivers for touchpads I could install? I dont want to disable the touchpad through bios as i use it when i travel around the house.

Secondly is a network freezeup ingame during tf2. It does not always happen. Its very sporadic, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. While I am ingame in tf2, the game will suddenly freeze up, showing a connection error in the top right. This goes away after about 3 seconds, and I proceed to gain control over my character. But while all this is happening i have no control over the game, and I end up dying. It happens once every other minute, approx.

    Got any ideas guys?

The thing is..you have to have the synaptics driver installed to do that. I dont want it as it causes lag. I may have fixed the network thing, i just need to test it a bit more.

Positive. One in about..20 keystrokes is a complete miss.

You can disable the touchpad by right clicking it in device manager. Not as convenient, but it'll do.
Edit: oops scratch that... I just went to try this and it's PS2 instead of USB so you can't just disable it... you can disable it in the BIOS, but that might not be the best solution.

And yes, the Synaptics driver package has been known to cause all kinds of issues, keyboard lag, stuttering, excessive CPU usage, etc. For some models (like my G50V) newer drivers and a BIOS update resolve it.

Any third party drivers that would work perhaps?

AFAIK, there's no third party drivers that are available for the touchpad.

As for your network freeze ups while playing TF2, I'd suggest reinstalling the lan/wireless drivers and install any new patches for the game.

Yeah..when I first got the laptop I thought I went through and installed all the newest drivers, but apparently I missed the wireless driver. I updated it and it seems to be working. Needs a bit more testing though.

This dang touchpad is quite annoying..

I suggest you to update BIOS to latest and do a good clean install with stock drivers.

The lag has improved for me. Not 100% but a lot better.

Is anyone experiencing a double keystroke issue other than delays? I know that my g71g has the double keystroke issue and the techies suggested that it may be a Synaptic point device driver issue.
