Hey guys I just recently got my c90 and decided to try 3dmark06. I have been getting really low scores, and was wondering if anyone knows what the deal is...

    E6600 2.4 GHz
    2 GB RAM
    256 MB 8600m gt DDR3

Everything was left at stock, and I am using drivers 169.04. My score was 2244, and when I went into overclock with turbo gear, the score went up to 2434. It seems to me that these scores are really low. I did get a fluke run last night where my score was 3456, but its been in the low 2000's ever since. Also, the GPU temps seem kinda screwy, 80 idle and 87 under load. Can anyone help?

Yeah, keep using the stock driver with the gddr3. If you upgrade drivers, performance drops. No idea why.

3dmark06 doesn't even open when I have the stock drivers, it comes up with an error "D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE". When I go to the device manager, it doesn't say 8600m gt, it just says standard VGA adapter...

*EDIT* got it fixed now, ran 3dmark and got 3685. Seems much better. Just one more question, do the asus default drivers allow for overclocking?

yes....and we are still trying to figure out why we need stock drivers to get performance...waiting on a new one...

I guess I am happy, just got 3900's all stock. My GPU now idles at 82 and goes to 96 under load. Is this ok, or should I be worried?

Thats a safe temp, if you want it cooler (and I would even tho thats a safe temp) you can look into a cooling pad or even check out the c90 mod thread in my sig.

Thats a pretty awesome mod, and you said it lowers temps by about 10 degrees? I just hit 106 playing CoD4 and I think that is way too high. I might look into doing something like that if I can get a spare ACE door from gentech...

The only thing I can think of it needs stock driver is because of the VGA BIOS, the GDDR3 card has same GPU but only with different video RAM, it'll be great if they can tell us why or at least update the driver for us.
