According to a news report (posted below), Asus notebooks are supposed to be equipped with 802.11n cards. However, I cannot find any Asus's with this new card.

Asus and Acer to ship notebooks with draft Intel 802.11n cards in January

DigiTimes reports that Asus and Acer will begin distributing the new Intel 4965AGN wireless card in late January. The Intel 4965AGN card is an based on draft 802.11n wireless technology, and has improvements in speed, range, and battery life versus the previous 3945ABG wireless card. Read more about the Intel 4965 here.

Certain models will ship with 802.11n cards PRIOR to the new chipset, which we should be seeing in only about 2 months from now....

The U1 is DEFFINATELY getting N, it's their big push on that model... The question is... will the US bring any of those in BEFORE the chipset change?

The Vx2 is supposed to get N - again, I don't see it coming to the states before the change though...

The V2je is also supposed to get N - and, likewise, same as above.

All I can say is that some of Asus' marketing stuff right now clearly shows some models that WILL be coming out in the near future with N wireless and the current 945 chipset. To clear the air, this is only for models that aren't currently out for sale now.... so for instance, the W5/W7/W2/V1/F3/G1/G2... so on and so forth, won't be getting N wireless until they get freshed starting probably at the middle of May.

    What about A8J* series.
How hard would it be to swap out current cards and put in the new N one?

Now that you mention it, can you give us a rough estimate of how much the refreshed G1 will cost? I suppose ASUS will upgrade it to Santa Rosa by then right? Do you think that the current G1 will get discontinued sometime after the refreshed version comes out? Should I wait a couple of months and hold my purchase until then?

Sorry, too many Qs in a single paragraph!
