Hey everyone. Heres a rundown of whats been going on with my laptop: at first it seemed as if my ac adapter was just not pushed in all the way. Simple fix was to just push it in harder. Then one day the laptop just stopped charging all together. So what I did is I opened it up and replaced the power jack on the mother board with a new one and viola its charging, or so it says..

Now theres a new problem im getting. My laptop is just not turning on at all. Good news is the charging light finally is lit up, but now what? I've been told to take out the power cord and battery and hold the power button for ~30 seconds and then try again but that hasnt worked.. Do i have to wait until my battery is at a certain charge % before it will turn on?

    Any ideas would be apprexiated!

You do not need to wait for certain charge in order to turn on the computer, but if you remove the battery and the unit still acts differently then you may need to send the unit.
But if the battery is defective then it may needs to be replaced under warranty if possible.

Removing the power sources and hitting the power button drains the current from the board, which refreshes the EC chip and sometimes fixes firmware problems. It sounds like you're still facing a hardware malfunction, though. Kudos for fixing the charging issue! Alas, it sounds like there is another hardware malfunction.

Do you get any response with the battery removed and the charger connected when trying to power the laptop on?
