    Hi all

We just bought an Asus Zenbook 3 Deluxe (UX490UA) for my wife and the first thing I would like to do is a clean install of Windows 10 to get rid of the bloatware, but also have the latest version of Windows 10 without the update hassle.

Before doing this update, I do have a couple of questions you might be able to assist be with.

    1. Is the Windows 10 Serial baked on the motherboard or should I wrote down the serial number before downloading and installing the latest Windows 10 ISO ?

    2. I did notice the drivers on the support website of ASUS are extremely old. E.g. the Intel GPU driver is from 2 years ago. If I read the support page of Intel right, the latest driver released in June/July, does support the 7500U with Intel 620 GPU.
Why doesn't Asus keep their drivers up to date on the support portals? This laptop only released about 1 ago... :(

Can I just pick the latest Realtek driver from the official Realtek website? Same for the Intel LAN/Wifi driver, the Rapid storage driver etc?

And what about e.g. the Asus video enhancement driver and Asus touch pad driver from the UX490UAR (the same laptop with the 8th generation Intel CPU)? Or aren't they compatible? They seem to be several versions further.

    3. Once all the drivers are installed, would anyone recommend using Driver booster to update the drivers that aren't on the latest version? On my desktop this program is working perfectly, but I don't have that much experience with laptops.

    Thanks a million in advance!

    1. The windows key should be stored within your BIOS, but it isn't a terrible idea to have it just in case.

    2. They can be a bit older in terms of drivers, but typically if they work I don't see a reason to have the latest unless you are having issues

    3. Again, if is isn't broken don't fix it kind of mentality. But by all means if you have issues you can upgrade to the latest elsewhere.

    Many thanks for your feedback!

Is there a specific order I should install the drivers located on your support page after installing Windows? :)
