    Hi out there.

I just bought a Asus Z71vp with a 1600X1050 screen. I've found, however that the high res screen is a bit too much for my eyes. The same supplier also stocks the Z71 with a 1280X800 screen at a lower price, so I'm thinking of swapping it over. I was wondering how the 1280X800 screen compares to the 1600X1050 in terms of:

    a) viewing angles - I'm quite happy with them on the 1600X1050
    b) contrast - again, happy with it on 1600X1050
    c) "sparkle" effect. Can someone please tell me if this only happens on the 1600X1050 screen?

Also, I can downgrade the video card to a 64MB GeForce 6600. Can this borrow extra ram from the system like the ATI X700? I'm not a massive gamer and would only like to play the odd game and do some 3D graphics (maya, 3d studio etc). Will 64mb be enough for me? Could save me a few hundred bucks....

    Thanks

That video card should be able to handle your needs...given you have a suitable CPU and enough RAM to do so; those programs rely a lot more on your CPU than you think.
