I've had an Asus X83V since about January. Apparently by around that point it was already an older model, because most of my searches now treat the product as nonexistent.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I lost my charger and proceeded to by a new one online, having only the laptop model to go off. About a week later it arrived, and since day one it's delivered an intermittent charge. It'll be charging, then suddenly switch between AC and battery power like 10 times in about 3 seconds. The Splendid interface notifies me of each change, which on top of being annoying makes my computer lag.

Any search I do on this type of problem always blames the battery/motherboard/some part of the computer. Judging that this never happened before getting the new charger, I think it's safe to say the actual charger is the culprit.

I am hoping to buy a new charger, but before I do I was wondering if anyone here owned an X83V or any computer in the X series so that they could tell me the specs (ie wattage, amperage, voltage) or part number of the charger, so that I can buy one with the confidence that the new one will work just as well as the old one.

    Thanks in advance!

I have a x83 myself,I love the laptop. I would suggest buying a universal targus pwr supply if they make one for this model. I use them on my hp's I usta have to buy replacement oem chargers quite often, usually buy them on ebay fairly cheap. but since I have bought a targus I havent had to replace it since. you can even replace the cord between the brick and the laptop, I had to replace one, that is usually the point of failure on the oem chargers.
