it arrived, and it is very sexy. I don't know how to review a laptop so I'll just say the things I have found out so far:

one of the arrow buttons is loose which is quite disapointing, but that is the only bad thing. The screen is fantastic, I shined a torch right at the screen and I can still read the letters. It came in black, I was 80% sure they'd send it in grey and say black was only for illustration. Obviously with this great spec it handled instalation smoothly and speedily. I'm going to install some games and see what this baby can handle

This is the first hit in Google, so I wanted summarize my experience so far.

    Positive:
+ fast system: (ram, cpu, all good.)
    + lot's of space (320 gb)
    + screen
+ look and feel laptop is superb.

    Negative:
    - battery lifetime. (see more user experiences on Asus forum here)

I can only get 1.5 hours max on a fresh battery. Note this is idle battery time, so if you start working it will get even less. This is a huge disappointment for me, especially since you cannot order a better battery than was included.

This is the only battery you can find:
    http://www.power-battery.org/asus-laptop-batteries/f5sl.php

For the record: 1.5 hour, fresh windows xp install with SP3. The big problem I see is the graphics card, its consumes too much power.

I just contacted support, however, they can't do anything. They say 1.5 hours is normal. ( yeah right, its advertised with 3 hours). In addition they told me that there is no better battery out there.

This really upsets me, you would at least expect that Asus would put a serious laptop battery in the market, with more juice...

I have tried NHC (notebook hardware control), and this helps me a bit. Installing battery doubler didn't seem to do much for me. To get more battery power, I disabled hardware acceleration in the "display properties".

    Note:
I underclocked the ATI Radeon Mobility 3470 to 300 mhz. This adds 3 minutes. Nothing serious. ( link to util)
