    Hi,

I am interested in the W5 series and I would like to know whether there is any schedule about when the W5F will be available to the market?

Besides, I've noticed that W5ae comes with XP-home, can I upgrade it to XP-Pro using the XP-pro installation CD? Or a clean install is necessary? Can I keep those customized programs?

    Thanks very much.

    G-
    :)

For North America, all Napa platform Ensembles are still at LEAST 30 days away.... 45 is probably more accurate...... I think we should expect to be shipping them by the end of the first week of March..... if they're not in by then there's going to be a problem.

If the new model still comes with home, if you have a pro disc you can certainly change that out easily if you need the functionality.

PROPortable - do you know the average price of the W5F once it comes out?

I gotta know how many pennies I gotta save till then. :D

You still have to buy license to that XP Pro (if you don't have extra one already) since you can't use the one that is provided with your laptop (XP Home license is not good for XP Pro). Afterwards you can install those customized programs from the installation cd's/dvd's provided with the lappy (can you say lappy? :) ).

... Happogiri - that would be one of those understood things.. but thanks for mentioning it.

Well most believe for the same configuration, we're looking at a 10-15% premium for the new napa models.....

So.. if it came similiarly equipt with the current W5ae... I think it could break the $2,000 mark... maybe as much as $2,070.00..... but that's if they stick with the dvd burner and things like that.
