Hi, Goku here, first post. Im a long time lurker on this wonderful site, and since im taking a break from training, I figured I would buy a laptop. Ive researched, and simply love that Asus W3J. I was wondering if the x1600 in this baby can handle FEAR on medium settings, and if this notebook has gigabit ethernet. Looked at the specs, didnt say. Glad to be here! :D

i dont have the exact specs on the x1600, but without a doubt it can handle fear. just make sure you avoid volumetric lights and you might need to play with the shadow quality or other settings, and no one cares about gigabit ethernet ;)

It should probably handle FEAR at low settings. I personally own a 7800GTX in my PC and I have everything at max with the game and does great. However, a 7800GTX and the x1600 are very different. So I wouldn't expect to have the best graphics while playing FEAR on a notebook's x1600. Like masterchef341 said, turn off the special lighting setting's and you might be okay on medium settings for everything else.

    I have a W3J. W3J has gigabit ethernet port; I haven't installed FEAR in my W3J though.

What is a Asus W3J+, or is that a typo in the title?
