    Hi,

I came across an offer and I'm wondering if this is a V6Va and if it possibly has an IPS screen?

I'm a little confused because the V6Va listed on the Germany Asus website has an X700, while this offer has an X600 and is also called V6876VLP. I'm guessing this is an unit from North America (I know this reseller has imported some NA nw8240s, too). Maybe some of you guys can help?

Is it possible to determine whether a V6Va has an IPS screen without seeing it in person (the shop is 400 km away from me), like how ThinkPads have the Tabook document where you can look up the parts in specific models?

    Many thanks in advance!

That is definatly the v6v. Now, im not sure if that's the v6va (refresh) with the IPS screen. My guess is this, its just the v6v because the German ASUS site lists the v6va as having different specs.

Now I would suggest you talk to someone from the company your going to buy it from or email them and ask them these same questions because the German version definatly has small variations from the American version, plus I dont understand it / it doesnt give enough information.

If It has an X600 in it, then It's not a V6Va with an IPS screen (most likely)...all North American V6Va's with the IPS screen came with the X700. The X600 means It's an original V6V.

As far as product codes go, I'm pretty sure no one has been able to link certain characteristics to It having an IPS screen...bottom line is, If It has an X600 in it, I'm 99% sure It's not an IPS V6va model. Hope that helps, good luck :)

Yup...I agree, it's just the regular V6V with a Crystal Shine (high brightness) screen. No IPS, no ColorShine (glossy screen), no X700...

    Thanks!

Well it's still in the night over here in Germany so I couldn't/ can't ask. And I don't think I'm going to, after reading your comments, it's a demo unit anyway.
