    what would stop me from swapping an i5-540um or an i7-660um in place of the i3-330um? :D besides finding those 2 processors standalone? :confused:

    I think it might be a BGA socket, not a PGA one. Could be wrong, but ...

    they're all bga socket compatible. thanks though. not even interested anymore. just researched sandy bridge processors and will wait awhile for intel's lv/ulv snb processors and see what happens.
