When I start up my UL30VT-A1, at the time it hits the windows 7 log-in screen, the LCD turns off for about 5 seconds, then comes back on and everything continues normally.

Just wanted to know if that 5 second flicker is normal?

    Thanks

I believe it is normal for the UL30VT to have that "flicker" when loading into Windows.

I have the same model and experience the same 5 second screen turnoff. I assume it has to do with the hybrid graphics solution in these notebooks but I am not certain.

I have the same UL30VT-A1 and can confirm that it's normal for the ~5 second delay at the windows log-in screen. This happens only when you have your dedicated GPU enabled. Running in power saving mode on integrated graphics will not have this delay.
