    Hi all,

Bought my wife a S56, she loves it. It's super light , great screen, very fast. But only problem is, the laptop came with Windows 8.
It's such an awful operating system.

My wife wants me to format and install Windows 7 on it. Only problem is, I'm sure about what drivers are required.

Can anyone give me a list of stuff I should be downloading, looked at the website and it has a ton of stuff, not sure what's needed and what isn't.

My wife's model is the S56CA -WH31. Has the i3 processor, 4 gb ram, 24gb ssd and 500 gb hard drive if that helps identifying the model.

    Thanks in advance!

Most of the drivers from Asus DVD will work with WIndows 7, you can just browse the drives DVD Software folder to install drivers one at a time since the auto installation won't work on Windows 7.

Important drivers needs to be install are:

    - ATK drivers
    - Intel Chipset
    - Intel HD Graphics
    - Wireless
    - Touchpad
    - Audio

Lol. Sorry to hear neither of you like it. But remember that if it came with Windows 8 from factory, a fresh install will be difficult if the machine has the OA 3.0 implemented (which I believe it does). The license for Windows installs is integrated in the firmware, which means if you try to install anything other than the edition of Windows 8 that came with the computer, it won't match the serial key and will reject the installation. You will need to utilize the downgrade rights per Microsoft circumscriptions.

This, as well as anything else that shows a "!" in Device Manager. But those are the essentials (I recommend chipset driver first).
