Well, about a year and a half ago, i posted this Thread about me never receiving my ASUS rebate.

Well, a year and a half later i finally received it....but it didnt really work at the end..... :(

I moved a few months ago, but the people at Asus sent the check at my old address.., then it took a while for the new tenants to get the check to me.. almost a month... time in which the check expired....

So in other words, they sent me a check a year and half later that had an expiry date of one month afterwards. Funny thing is that i was so excited when i received it, that i went straight to the bank and deposited it. Then, a few days ago i got a letter back from the bank stating that the account where the check was being paid off was closed. There was a small print on the check stating that it should be cashed before aug 19th...

It took me months and several calls complaining to Asus about my rebate, and when i finally get it, exactly a year and a half later ( applied for it on Feb last year ), it is only valid for a short period of time ...

Im gonna be calling again, although i doubt i can get my rebate back again...

Same thing happened to me, although it didn't take a year, but more like six months for the check to be mailed by which time I was on the road and by the time I got the check to the bank: EXPIRED! Thanks, ASUS.

Another rebate from a second laptop bought 4/09 hasn't shown up yet; I'm about the hit the road again for three months, so it's safe to mail it now, you clowns.

I've been burned too often by the rebate game to pay any attention any more. If the product, whatever it is, is a good value at the cash price I'll buy it and if I ever see the rebate it's "gravy."

    Schmucks...

sorry to hear you had so much trouble.
I had a really quick clean experience with my rebate. Sent the envelope in, got an email in a couple weeks confirming. had a website up to check my rebate status, and got the check in the mail about 60 days after sending it in.

hope you have better luck in the future bro, it's annoying as hell to be on the phone with customer service for hours on end regarding something like this...
