So I want the n56jr-eh71 (4700HQ), but the I saw a bunch of other versions of this model. Don't know what the differences really are since I'm new to Asus laptops. I want the latest N series with the greatest battery and specs 7k+ cpu benchmark. I want a laptop with easily accessible sata so that I can swap out the HDD for SSD. My budget is $1,400. Can you guys please help me :D

I think it has to do with RAM & HDD configurations. I have the N56JR-MH71 from Microcenter. I swap out the HDD for a SSD (Samsung 840 EVO 250GB). This one came with an Atheros Wifi card, which I dremel(shave off) (I didn't crack any of the plastic casing, just shave off carefully) some plastic casing blocking the screw to swap for a (Intel 7260 802.11ac w/Bluetooth).

The main differences between the eh71 and mh71 is that the mh71 offers 16GB of RAM instead of 12, a 7200RPM hard drive(only 750GB though) instead of a 5400RPM drive(1TB), and that's about it.

Personally, I went for the faster built-in drive and the extra RAM, and since the MH71 seemed to be the same price as the EH71, cheaper actually I think, it was a no-brainer. Though there aren't a ton of differences.

I have the MH71 and in the short time I have had it, I'm loving it. Fantastic value for $1,000, and you would still have money in your budget to replace the drive with SSD if you want, or to buy something else.
