    Asus G71 - how much ram, max?

    I know it has 6 gigs ram, but what is it expandable to? I've heard 8, but then somewhere I read it was 12. Is that even possible?

    The chipset supports 16 but only has 3 ram slots, the max per slot is 4GB so xotic's 12 seems pretty solid.

    thanks PMONEY23 and ClutchX2. "darthvader1432" - I'm not using 12 gigs of ram, I'm simply asking how much you can expand it to, out of a little thing called curiosity :) I'm curious tho - what's barley use? Is it something to do with storing your ram in bits of grain?

    I'd like more around 6gigs of RAM, 12 seems insane, but cool for "bragging rights".

    I'm sure the six gigs in it right now will be more than enough, but it's nice to know I could expand if I had to :)
