Hi, im new and had a quick question. I just got the asus g50vt-a1 this weekend from excaliberpc. When gaming with turbo or turbo extreme mode on, are you suppose to have ac mode on? If i don't plug it into the outlet my gameplay is a bit fuzzy and slows down like the graphics card (9800m GS) can't handle it. I am running Lost Planet Extreme Condition and also happens with COD4. They run fine with AC mode. Any input would be much appreciate since i don't know if i have a defective unit. Sorry if this has already been answered.

    Unit is:
    Asus g50vt-a1
    duo t9400
    250gb+250gb @ 7200rpm
    9800m GS 512mb

While on battery, your GPU will downclock itself in order to conserve battery life. Power4gear and/or Direct Console's overclocking feature is only for the CPU, hence even if you select Turbo or Turbo Extreme while you're unplugged, your games won't run as smooth as when you're plugged in.

I think he means overclocking on the fly. And yes you can, though, you'll need to set it in AC mode to allow battery powered OC'ing. All done through Direct Console 2.

Must be plugged in...or just tick the allow in batter mode box. Be warned you will have very short battery life.
