AS stated my PC still tries to boot from the CD even though i go into the BIOS and i have changed it back to HDD is the first. Then i even disabled the CD boot but yet it still goes and does the CD search first for some unkown reason. Should i flash my BIOS to fix this problem? or is there some other solution.

Edit:I mean it checks for CD before POST, checks for it after POST and then checks for a CD once more durning boot. This is very very effing annoying as this is most definitately not a quiet boot.

It could be its not checking for the CD

On my desktop PC, when the BIOS does a scan for HDD's it will trigger a reset of the device bus which includes a reset of the optical drive. This makes the drive spin up and check for a disk.

The only way to stop this from happening is to either unplug the drive if it has cables on the back or physically remove the drive from the PC.

I have had many computers that check for a disk even if it is at the end of the boot device lists.

Its just checking for a disk in the drive, not actually trying to boot from the device.

You could just not leave a disk in there :p

    one thing is true :
the more partitions you have, the more checks will be done at boot...
disks, usb sticks, sd cards, etc... slows the boot check and the boot process
