Has anybody gotten any word on the status of this and if it will be fixed? I'm talking about the problem with the missed keystrokes, to clarify. It's just really annoying that this problem has been left unnoticed because I play games and pretty much always notice the missing keystrokes and it's pretty much the only thing that is keeping me from calling this computer a good PC. If anybody has some news or anything, that would be great. I've already disabled the synaptics touchpad and all of those other fixes but ASUS really needs to release a complete fix for this.

I mean when you are pressing keys rapidly, you get ghosted (missed or ignored) keystrokes. This happens nearly everytime. You have to purposely type slower which is ridiculous.

So after you disabled the touchpad, you still get missed keystrokes?

In re: to post #2, see G50 owner's lounge for links to full threads discussing the problem.

I notie it all th time. Take this post for example, I'm yping the same speed as I always do, and it's onstantly missing letters. It's a huge pain in the , and relly makes me not like this laptop at al. Ironic how something that should be amost identical to the G1S series can be so much worse.
I should probabl add that, as a history graduate and the author of countless reports and essays, my typing is almost perfect.

I don't think there has ever or will be a 'fix'. Just a workaround of disabling the touchpad

Yes there is a fix now, you can download the BIOS 209 I think (or the latest, if it's newer) and the newest ATK drivers, then install these items. That should take care of the problem if I remember correctly.

I've got the same issue with my g51, it's very annoying. I've tried changing the rate in windows and it made no difference.

I had 209 before I was forced to disable the touchpad.

I haven't re-enabled the touchpad to test if BIOS 213 fixed it... I don't use the touchpad, so I haven't felt the need to test it.

You need to couple the latest BIOS with the updated ATK software (maybe a beta version I don't remember) to get the fix to work.

I don't think this works for the G51VX series. I have the latest BIOS from the asus website, and downloaded ALL The ATK software....many times.

I have Windows 7. I've been trying to find a solution to this problem for a while now.

And in the System Information window, my BIOS is listed as the following:

    BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 203, 5/27/2009

But the weird thing is, it's listed as:

    System Model G60VX

    run > msinfo32

Was any one with the G51 able to fix this issue?

I'm also experiencing this problem with my G50V and disabling the keypad only has minimal effect. At this point, I think I'm going to buy a separate keyboard and connect it to a USB port. This problem is unbearable.

    Hey guys,

Check out the complete thread on this problem: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=252283&page=19

I don't think a solution currently exists, and I am in e-mail contact with Asus executives to pressure them to finally do something about this. I encourage you all to e-mail them as well to put the pressure on. It is unacceptable.

Check out my posting on the other thread for details.

    Best,
    Tyler
