My G1s' geforce 8600m gt died on me recently n was sent to asus for repair.most of the forums i found about this are quite old n it seems most people had their cards replaced by a 9500m gs card which seems quite weak by today's standards.i just want to know if i'll be getting the same card or a newer one since mine was returned recently n it seems that cards production has been stopped.

same problem here, got a replacement instead cause they were out of G1S motherboard. However they say they've got a new shipment now without the overheating problem so they'll probably just replace the motherboard.

same old card. you would get the exact same one with the 8600GT i believe. its just been fixed so it won't overheat.
