    Hey all,

I recently just ordered an Asus G1 and I understand it comes with a back pack. However my question to you is: does the back pack the G1 comes with have room to carry books to class as well as the laptop, or is it just a backpack to carry the laptop? Does anyone have a back pack they suggest that can fit books and the G1 nicely if the one it comes with does not work?

There's space for some extra stuff asides the notebook, but I personally bought a separate and regular laptop bag for it.

I just went to the library today with the g1 backpack, and managed to fit a 1.5" thick spiral notebook, and a 10lb or so chemistry (~3" thick) textbook in there with the laptop. It was snug but there was a bit of wiggle room still. There was also plenty of room in the front compartment, I probably could have jammed another small binder or book in there had I needed.

    It's a surprisingly nice backpack. :)

Yes, it has plenty of space for some school goodies.

I use the MobileEdge brand notebook backpacks, they are large enough for my notebook and everything else, with very good padding all around.

Today I stuffed two spiral notebooks and an art encyclopedia into the bag along with the computer, and it worked just fine.

What the...? Are you going to be carrying around dead bodies at school or what?

Hey, school is a dangerous place, you never know what might happen ;)

I agree that books can take up a lot of space, and I would not want to cram it in with a notebook if there was barely enough space.

Well, having lived through 2 years of college already I will tell you, the smaller your bag the better, trying to find space for that behemoth he showed us would be a nightmare in a cramped lecture hall or classroom (which even with as few as 20 students they still get), also at a certain point (far below the leviathan theshold that bag passed up) your bag starts taking up valuable dorm room space, on the floor, a chair or a closet, it is all space you will likely need for something else. Also, big bags are fun to steal, because they are hard to hide and look dorky.

I prefer the largest bag possible. Five years of college experience taught me that.

Hahaha, this whole thread is filled with some great posts. *chuckle*

I like a medium bag. If I need more space, I have it, else, I can just keep it small.
