    Hi everyone,

Trying to figure out what the Asus Ensemble equivalent of the Z96J is.

I'm interested in the 15.4 inch screen and WSXGA resolution but would like something that is built a little better than the Z96J and that has DVI, like the A8J series.

Seems like the F3J models are similar but can you get any of these (in Canada :) ) with the WSXGA resolution?

    Greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

The Asus G1 and V1jp. The V1jp especially has a higher build quality.

Thanks for the feedback. Those are both really, really expensive in comparison though, aren't they? In canada, the difference in cost compared to the Z96J is $600+

Is there something kind of half-way in between?

It doesn't have the superior build compared to the 96J series, but the F3J series are somewhat comparable. No DVI though.

The G1p and V1Jp, are as mentioned, are exactly what you were asking for.

Yeah, they are a good bit more expensive. I don't think there are any notebooks in between within the Asus Ensemble line that meet those requirements. I'm sure others on this forum can offer you more insight though.

nerraD, I am in the exact boat you are... I am personally looking at the F3jp to meet my needs, though the A8jp ( over at Newegg ) might sneak in if it ever comes back in stock.

    F3jp for 15.4" WSXGA+ (yummy) $1600
    A8jp for 14.1" WXGA+ (good enough! ) $1300

Both use a similar sized battery, so I expect the A8 to give a little more battery life by virtue of its smaller screen size, but just the convenience of a 15.4" widescreen notebook is swaying me heavily towards the f3jp. The G1 and V1 are out of my price range. Out of those 2, id pick the G1 for sheer config. 2gb ram + 160 gb hdd ! I can get past the blinkning green lights for that config!
