I've read that the 4GB Eee PC has only 1.3GB available to the user. 4GB-1.3GB=2.7GB for the OS. So what about the 2GB model ? What applications are left out? How much user space is available?

Also, can an application be run from an SD card?

Sorry if these questions are repeats. Thanks.

Yes, You can run from SD, and with a 2GB SD card as cheap as $10 its not really an issue.

You can also add more storage internally using the mini PCI slot to wire up 2 USB slots so you can have internal USB storage, Id recommend one of the heavy duty ones, a normal USB stick is rated for 10,000 hours, but you can buy ones rated for 100,000 hours.

Thanks for answering my question about running applications from the SD card.

But what about applications shipped with the notebook. What software is left out on the 2GB model? How much user space is available? Anyone?

    Thanks.

The best place to ask would be at the eeeuser.com forums, fantastic EEE community there.
