I had an accident with my laptop and the screen is parts of the bottom is cracked, laptop won't turn on anymore, luckily I signed up for the accidental warranty, just curious has anyone had experience with their coverage? I have an M50Sv-A1 if anyone wants to know.

    I did.
They replaced my whole laptop and gave me a even better laptop.
Switched to XPS M1730 from Inspiron 9400

Well spradhan01, that's nice and all, except this is about an Asus laptop, not a Dell laptop. I think coverage on different companies is a little irrelevant

Yup, trying to see if anyone got theirs replaced under the warranty, I dropped my laptop and its in really bad shape (the whole thing is bent and the bottom + screen are cracked). They gave me an RMA number and all, but I just wanted to know if anyone has had experience dealing with the Accidental Damage Warranty at Asus.

Aren't there any reports on the Accidental Warranty sticky? (I am not saying there are, but you should check if you didn't already)

I glanced through the last couple pages and its mostly people talking about registering, but no reports of people sending their laptop in for repair under the warranty.

Just an update for those interested, seeing as there aren't any from people who have accidental damage. My wife dropped off the laptop at the Asus repair center for me yesterday as it was close to her work, hopefully I will be getting a brand new laptop, cause from the damage on the laptop, I don't see how it can be repaired.

Good luck! Be aware that you're not covered a second time for this kind of thing. :)

So the best thing to do is take care of it for 11 months, and then drop it the last month of the warranty and get a new laptop? :p

Well, not really. Personally if a computer worked well for 11 months, I'd stick with it -- it's a good computer. The replacement may not be that good...

I got a call from Asus today at 3pm, and my wife picked up the laptop for me, upon inspection, the laptop looks brand spankin new, although they had used the bottom case from a M50SV-B1 instead of the A1 that I have (guess they ran out of parts). Everything looked in order except the Keyboard which was loose on one end, I called tech support and found out that it was just a small problem with the latch and just needed to be pushed down to secure the keyboard in place.

From the Repair notes, I think everything was brand new, except maybe the ram. Asus Installed the latest Vista on the machine along with the newest updates, lots of bloat ware. My only gripe with the laptop is that they used the stickers from my old laptop and they are all peeling off. Aside from that I'd give my experience with Asus Accidental Warranty an 9/10, the whole process was pretty much trouble free, the customer support people are great, the only thing is that when I had to talk to tech support, the tech support person I talked to, his english was quite bad and we had problems communicating as he had trouble understanding me.

Anyways, after this experience with Asus, I will defininitely be purchasing another Asus laptop when the time comes to replace my "new" laptop that I just got back.
The whole repair process took exactly 1 week from the day the laptop was dropped off at the repair center, to today which isn't too bad.

Nice. Glad to see this ADW actually works.

Kill the stickers, BTW. Especially if you have a new case, since the plastic did not have time to develop different shades of color outside the stickers, than under them.

One week turn around is not bad at all for rebuilding it like that! Glad to hear it worked out well, I'll have to consider getting an Asus for my next system
