With the massive Dell battery recall it's made me wonder if anyone has heard of their being any ASUS battery problems, overheating, melting, exploding, etc? If ASUS hasn't had these problems do you think it's, because they use better batteries and other components or is it just because they deal with a lot smaller volumes so the probability is a lot lower? In terms of quality those Dell batteries are made by Sony. I know it's probably all made in China anyways, but you'd expect better quality control from a name brand. I believe Apple's earlier battery recall was also of Sony batteries.

My battery was made in Korea. The ones made in China and Japan had the most problems. As of right now I have heard nothing bad about ASUS's batteries.

Everyone computer company has had or at least had a claim that their computers have caught fire for one reason or another....... Given the handful of actual notebook makers in the world and even smaller number of battery makers, I'm surprised it's actually not more widespread, but Asus is already known for using better components, but I think it's luck of the draw - or bad luck of the draw, honestly.. No widespread issues with any other notebooks though.
