When ordering my W3J from PROPortable, I decided to order the Aluminum Laptop Briefcase to go with it. The description on the site is rather vague, so I'm going to post a brief review for anyone who may be interested in purchasing the case. (The case can be found at this link: http://www.proportable.com/detail.aspx?ID=171)

The first thing I thought when I took the case out of the box was "wow". The aluminum case is slim, sleek, and certainly catches the eye. (My girlfriend asked if I would be working for the cartel anytime soon, as this case would be excellent to carry some drug money) This is one of the best-looking cases I've seen, and at the NBR discounted price (~$40.00) it's also among the best-priced in my opinion for the protection you receive. The case may be carried with the handle on top or the removable shoulder strap.

The entire briefcase feels solid and very well built, and I'd imagine this case can take a beating. Also, while it may weigh more than a fabric case, it is by no means overly heavy, especially considering the build. The aluminum exterior is extremely firm and as expected there is no give whatsoever when pressing anywhere on the case. When opening the case, the latches in the front (which have separate locks) swing upwards smoothly, and the hinges also move smoothly and silently when opening the case.

This case looks just as sleek on the inside as it does on the outside. The internal fabric is smooth and somewhat irredescent. The top of the case features velcrow-closing pockets for CD's and floppy disks, as well as three credit-card sized pockets and three pen-loops. Beyond those items and the laptop, there is not much room left - the internal dimensions, as measured, are 17" x 12" x 1 3/4". The case has a sturdy velcro strap to go across the top of the laptop, and also also has a padded movable divider that can be placed to secure a smaller laptop. In terms of overall padding within the case, the bottom section is padded, however the top is not. However, given the dimensions of the case, I do not believe this would be an issue as there is not much room for the laptop to move, even if the case were jostled.

Overall I'm very pleased with the case. I purchased it intending to use it should I be travelling on a plane/train and want a secure case for the laptop. This certainly should deliver in that respect. The only downside I can see is the lack of space for other items, however this doesn't personally bother me too much. If you are interested in the case and have any questions that I haven't addressed, please feel free to reply to this post or PM me.

    W2j dimensions, as on PROPortable.com - 15.56" (length) x 11.37" (width) x 1.06"-1.56" (height)

It should fit in the case with some slight room to spare on the side, based off the measurements I took from the inside of the case.

I took pictures of the W2 in that case back in the Fall.......... It will fit.... tightly...... and without room for the ac adapter...... but it'll fit and close safely..... I used it to carry around my W2 to a few meetings as it's pretty sharp looking and I didn't need to bring the AC with me...... but most people wouldn't like that for normal use.

Honestly I couldn't tell you...... you'd have to get shipping rates from the site. Those two items are things that would have to ship seperately so rates for them would be totally seperate I believe.

Joey, at a minimum I'd guess ~$20 for the laptop by it self or the case by itself since shipping for a monitor i purchased alone, sent from PA to me in NY was $22.70

shipping to hawaii will most likely be over $100 because i preordered the w3j along with the optical battery, extra memory, and warranty and my shipping totaled around $94 for 2 day delivery. I live in California. So shipping to Hawaii might even be double that.
