Was looking for info on the screens they use... found some on their website! Does anyone have pictures of their screens next to any other notebooks? Anyone ever have problems with light leakage...? extra note: Asus' screen warranty seems to be quite good does that usually prove to be the case?

Well, my opinion is that it is all marketing. Many manufacturers use the same screens. Asus does not make their screens. There definitely is a difference in quality, though - but that varies from model to model, and even time periods on the same model.

I honestly haven't seen a better 14" screen than on my Z63A (viewing angles aren't great, though). However, I have heard of issues with the Z71, and even the Z70V (ghosting - which has been resolved).

So, it just depends on the model. Asus makes awesome notebooks, and in my opinion, they will pay the extra $$$ for great screens to go along with them. Ask about a specific model, and the owners will be glad to give you their opinion.

Asus does provide an excellent screen warranty, but *only* for their Ensemble line-up. The warranty is known as ZBD or "Zero Bright Dot" - meaning if you notice a dead pixel or two within 30-days, Asus will replace your notebook's screen (check Asus' site for more details on this). Reguarding Color and Crystal Shine - Color Shine is Asus' fancy way of saying a particular notebook has a glossy-type display and Crystal Shine means the screen has a higher brightness. I'd say that Asus' overall screen quality is excellent after recently seeing a V6va (IPS) in person.

The A6J is one that is currently available that interests me... only thing missing is a widescreen display. The V1J & F3J also look really good but since they aren't available yet, who knows i guess!! Are there different levels of glossiness to a glossy screen? Ive read some people say that some were not so bad on one machine, and others really find the reflections bothersome on others!

It's nice to see that ASUS takes care of their customers when it comes to issues with their products =)
