    ASUS Windows key?

    I was just wondering if by chance ASUS would know wha my windows key was bc its rubbed off the sticker on my laptop... Anyone know?

    Unfortunately, the manufacturers don't usually keep that info on file. You can email their service to see if they have it, but I haven't been lucky with that in the past. For most users, you will need to contact Microsoft to obtain a key if this has happened.

    You can use a utility to extract the license code from the registry, like ABR or similar.

    Well my laptop crashed and now wont boot so gettin into the OS is impossible.

    I contacted Microsoft and they told me to talk to ASUS since it was preinstalled software.

    *IF* your laptop's got a backup partition, then doing a factory reset via that will not require the key on the bottom. Once you've done the reset, using Magic Jelly Bean will then show you the CURRENT key used.
