    Hello,

I'm looking at buying an ASUS W3J but am a bit confused by some of what i've seen on the internet. I've mainly seen sites like the following:

    http://www.laptopchoice.com.au/Product.asp?ProductID=28

Which seems to advertise the W3J but branded under the Metabox title. Reading further down the site it looks like the W3J is built on. From reading this forum I was under the assumption that the W3J is an ensemble (the opposite of built on?) model?

Has anyone had any experience in buying these W3J machines? I would much prefer an ensemble standard build ASUS W3J but I can't seem to find any available. If I choose to get a Metabox W3J Asus laptop would I be compromising quality? Would I be better off just getting an A8Jm since I can get an 'official' ASUS model of it?

    Thanks.

    Jason

It is, but those places basically 'rebrand' it as their own, and allow you to customize it. Yes the warranty is voided and nullified, but you usually get their form of warranty.

It seems the ASUS Australia dealer page isn't working(The ASUS AU site is pretty nonworking lol), and looking through the models, the W3 may not even be avaliable there. Is there other places you can check for the W3?

I think the only difference between an 'official' Asus model and a rebranded model is who you're getting the warranty with. What country are you in btw?

    I'm from Australia.

So you don't think the quality will be any worse getting a rebranded model?

No, It's the exact same thing. Just you can customize it, or just buy it as the W3j with stock specs.
