    Hello

I recently purchase a Intel 320 Gen3 80GB SSD and replace the original SSD it came up. When I try to recovery my laptop using recovery CD I encounter this weird issue.

The recovery process went fine. (Put 4 disc in, 1 by 1 and everything is automatic)

The second the 4th disc is finish and I try to reboot, I get this black screen.

Boot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

I went into BIOS, set as factory setting, played with the different boot order and none of it work.

Can anyone give me a hand?

    Thank you in advance.

Have you tried setting your SATA mode in "compatibility / IDE" mode, as opposed to ACPI?

Making sure bios is set to default prior to OS installing should solve the problem. I recommend doing a clean OS install rather than installing a recovery, but it's your call.

Can you see the drive in the BIOS?

I had a similar problem a while ago. When I finished recovering the drive, the laptop no longer recognizes the drive, and gives me the same error you described.

I ended up having to send the laptop back to ASUS for repair. They replaced the HDD, and it apparently fixed the problem.
