    Hi

Can any recommened an ASUS mutimedia notebook? I need a notebook for watching DVD's, internet, basic video games, music. I need a notebook with(windows 7) a good screen, build quality, cool and quite. I noticed a lot of the new ASUS models are built with shiny black plastic. Are they other ASUS models that I can buy in Ireland that have better build quality. I don't have a lot of cash to spend. Are the black plastic ASUS models bad or are they acceptable?
    Thanks.
    Garret

I sell notebooks for a living and from everything I've seen with the new Asus (N and K series) their build quality is still relatively high and is much better than anyone else competing at that price point. If price is an issue I'd be looking at the k50 series. They are some of Asus cheaper notebooks (699 retail on one of the k50s [cost being $610]) and from what I can tell when I've been setting them up for customers they seem pretty solid. Not much chassis flex, cooling seems adequate plus you get a 2 year warranty first being fully accidental.

I still have yet to see a consistently competitive company that can play in Asus field. In my mind there's not many other wise choices for notebooks beyond Asus. And no I don't work for Asus :p
