    All,

I have ASUS M70sa. I know that there is a Realtec HD chip. Now, I have few questions:

    1. There are 4 speakers and one "subwoofer" on board. Why can't I set up a quadraphonic sound under realtek control panel?

    2. Can we turn them on separately one by one (to hear the sound just in one speaker only)? Maybe its stupid but IMHO we have just stereo with two speakers on each channel

    3. Can i connect a 5.1 speaker directly to my laptop? There are 3 jack connectors, they should be working as front, rear and center+sub channels.

    Cheers!

Ummm regarding your third point, no you cant connect a 5.1 speaker system directly to your laptop for true surround sound. The connectors are line-out, line-in, S/PDIF. If you want actual 5.1/7.1 its time to buy an external usb sound card OR an Express54 expansion sound card.
