    Evening all-

So I am peeling off the protection wrap from my new ASUS laptop - always a nice thing to do. This is my first "modern" laptop purchase as I always just build my own desktop system so this whole recovery partition thing is new to me.

My first order of business is to drop a new OS (Win7 Ultimate vs Home) and remove bloat. I know what I want in the end and don't need the rest of the other stuff.

    Questions-

    1) I have searched around and I am still looking for verification that the Recovery Discs that I am burning at this moment are in fact the same as the recovery partition. I trust they are.

    2) Where can I see the hidden partition? I have hidden folders / files turned on but I don't see the physical partition. Do I have to go through as GParted to see it?

If I look under disc management I see

    19.53 GB - Primary Partition
    116.45 - OS C:
    329.78 GB - Data D:

Is the "primary partition" the Recovery partition? If so, I can live with the 19.53 GB loss. That's not much of anything.

    3) When I go to drop Win 7 Ultimate, I will likely modify the partitions - If I drop / resize D: - the recovery partition is still intact correct?

    Thanks guys-

    Benjamin.
