Edit: Disregard this! Not an issue.

Hi there guys, I am posting this on behalf of my sister who recently purchased the Asus K501LX laptop on my recommendation. Laptop in question: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YR6BMS2/ref=psdc_565108_t1_B00X4099OG

Upon receiving the unit, she noticed there were two letters on the screen.

I thought this was possibly burn in to the screen but a friend recommended to take a flash light to it and see if it was still there (which it is). At this point, is there anything we can do about it (aside from taking the unit apart) or does it need to go back to Asus?

Defective screen during assembly/manufacturing, it's an imprint that somehow got to the screen.

So, they got it taken care of. Apparently it was just very tight plastic on the screen they got off with tweezers lol... Sorry for the pointless thread!

I have the exact same problem, how did they get rid of it? I can't find any seam to peel the plastic off.

Try using your phone flash in torch mode and look all around the edge.
