Engadget has made a posting on the G60, though things like DDR3 come up and from what we know about the motherboard, its just not true.

That is the UK price. A direct Sterling->Dollar conversion is pointless, you have to factor in the fact that the UK has very high VAT rates, and generally laptops are much more expensive in Europe anyway.

k so the new Asus lappies are still the G51 and now the G60 just a .5 bigger screen? and the G71?

    Edit
Just went to BestBuy and saw the G51.. why is the processor so crappy? i thought it was going to have up to quads and high core2duos. OR is that just cause its the BB model?

Another brief more news articles: http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/news.phtml/25090/asus-launches-g60-gaming-laptop.phtml

And a German review translated: http://translate.google.com/transla...annel=s&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=qgF

Unfortunately, it looks like the screens they're getting in Europe are 1366x768.

On the bright side, the price is estimated/listed as 1,349 Euros or about $1900. Maybe it'll be even cheaper here in the US...

Still a lot more than, say, a Clevo M860TU (SAGER NP8660).

It's usually cheaper over here, it'll probably be something like $1500.

The resolution will sometimes differ across models sold in various continents. But I don't see them making different types of mainboards for different markets, so I guess the DDR3 part is indeed a mistake.
