I sent the laptop in for the first RMA (around July 2008) less than a year after I purchased it. The GPU was dead, so the entire motherboard was replaced. I again sent the laptop back for RMA (around June 2009) because of some eSATA port issues and again, GPU overheating. ASUS received my laptop and never called me. I called them up and found out that they were waiting on parts and that it would take 3-4 months. Well, I argued and they "happened" to find a refurbished motherboard, so they replaced the motherboard again and thus replaced the GPU.

Well, my laptop is still under warranty. Today, while playing Guildwars the screen started to get pixelated and snowy. I hadn't played for more than 15 minutes when this happened and mind you, the heat wasn't even on at home and my room was not at all hot. So, now I have had ASUS issue another RMA.

I'm a student and I'm heading back to university next week to for another undergrad semester. I don't want to have to keep doing RMA every time I'm home for break. What can I do? What can I say to them?

    All help appreciated.

Thank you and a Happy New Year to all!
