I'm helping a friend look for a new laptop. I was just looking at NCIX.com and they have the A8jm ( link), which I saw and it's really a bit high in terms of price but if she can stretch her budget a bit it might be great (basically before tax/shipping and with a $50 rebate it's about what she was looking to pay after tax). Then I saw the A8m ( link), which does what she needs it to do (school and a bit of light gaming while on the road, but the requirement there is that it's better than something that had 512 ram and a 32mb video card) ( Link to Asus specs for A8m since NCIX is skimpy on details.

A8Jm seems to have a battery life expectancy of about 3 hours?

I have no idea what the battery life on the A8m is though. Does anyone know?

Looking at the specs it appears as though they the same chasis with a different motherboard/processor, and I guess the A8m I'm looking at has an 80g drive vs. 100g?

The A8M has a slower processor, and a slower video card.

the integrated graphics are not going to be much better than your 32 mb old agp graphics card.
it has 0 mb. its a 0 mb video card. turion cpus are actually better at integrated graphics than intel ones actually.
i think it would have a better battery life than a a8jm
