Has anyone completed a review of this laptop yet? I am really wanting to see what people think. I know it just got released a little over a week ago, but, still.

No offense, but just wait. Making threads won't help, just wait for people to write them up.

Mine should be coming next week, I'll write a review for it then, but someone else is submitting an NBR one so it shouldn't be long. Only a handful of us actually have the A8Js.

I'm going to work on an NBR review pretty soon, I have a lot of school work ATM the however. I am going to run some more benchmarks tonight and I will post them on the A8Js owner's club thread (or start a new thread).

Just to give you an initial sense, I've very impressed with this thing. It's my first laptop and I'm loving it more and more as I get it all configured and running how I want it. It DEfINITLY is faster than my desktop (Athalon XP 2700+, 1gb 3200ddr, gf 6600GT), pretty much across the board.

Other than a little bit of light leakage, I can't complain about anything really. The build quality really exceeded my expectations too, which is nice considering that I was thinking it was going to "bad" in comparison to the "w" series Notebooks. But man, compared to any other non-business class build, this thing is excellent!

More to come I suppose, let me run some benchmarks ...

I'm still waiting on mine as well, but as soon as I get it I'll write a review for my web site and post links to it here.

Here is the A8js 3DMark06 2665. Stock settings:

The laptop performed very well here, Nvidia has a tendency to perform better in 3Mark06 then ATI, but just marginaly.

As other have reported gaming on this laptop is great.

Some here are asking about the screen and it's viewing angles, well to be honest, the angles remind me exactly of the A8jm. I would say the view angles are the same or little better or worse than the a8jm.
For those who do not know much about the A8jm, the viewing angles are a little restrictive, around 100 degrees to 110 degree.

There's acutally some information regarding this laptop in this thread:

    Thanks for the 3Dmark06 post!

For a 14.1" wide screen those angles are fine -in fact it sounds better than the Sony Vaio S560P that I'm typing this post on...

Hrm, anyone else have any more comments on this? I just returned my FSC Amilo Xi 1546 because of the light leakage. It iis something I just can't stand. Isn't it so that smaller screens generally suffer less from light leakage?

I would really like to see pictures of everyones a8js screen on the windows start up screen in a room with the light turned off.

That way we can all between us see the manufacturing defects, like the dell e1705 owners did.

Describing this just does us no good we need pictures.
