    A8jm light

    The light right above the F5 key on my a8jm is always lid. Does anyone know whats it for and any luck in turning it off?

    Could be 2 things:

    If you start your notebook by pressing the InstantON, it'll be on or
    if you press Fn + NumLock to lock the keyboard in numpad mode..

    it looks like a light for media. and theres a button for it too. the last one on the right. but cant seem to turn it off. =(

    I had the same problem before I returned it...where did u buy it from.??

    MilestonePC, but its not a defect. It just setting I dont know how to turn off.

    function+ins turns off num-lock.

    im pretty sure thats why its lighting up. scroll lock doesnt light it up, nor does anything else.

    That light is Num Lock.

    above the F5 key, not F4. above F4 is the num lock yes I know. its the other one. Oh well, it mysteriously turned off on its own. So have anyone figured out how to assign the shortcut keys to other programs?

    The lights go in this order:

    Disk activity
    Caps lock
    Num lock

    It doesn't have a num lock icon - it has the InstantOn icon - but since InstantOn doesn't work, they made it num lock. I know they made it num lock because when I toggle the num lock on my external keyboard, it changes with it, and because when that light is on, the number pad on the laptop keyboard enables.
