    Hi,

I tried turning on my A8S series yesterday morning. The "Splendid" logon sound played, and I was expecting to see the logo on the screen. The screen however stayed black, but it did turn on because the LEDs were on, and no output from the machine was present. While leaving the machine powered on, it keeps restarting, and still no output on the monitor is shown. I tried changing the display output using the fn+f8 keys and as expected turned black (LEDs turned off) when it was expected to output to an external display and then the LEDs turned back on when it was supposed to output on the laptop display. The display remained black. I then connected the machine to my tv, and that worked.

I didnt have a clue what caused this so I reinstalled windows (Vista Home 32bit). The laptop display worked for a second and then after restart the same problem reappeared.

I'm puzzled and have no idea what is causing this, and at the moment can only use my laptop on an external monitor. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

I've unscrewed the monitor out and plugged it back in, and there aren't any loose wires/connections that might cause it.
