    ****.
its a very nice deal there danny.

however i thought it would be cheaper. Not that im complaining, just that its almost $1500USD.

my chances of gettingo ne decreased. Unless the barebones version comes out soon.

Don't expect the barebone very soon if Asus will eventually make it.

Well, perhaps the US will see a barebone version instead, as ASUS had wanted to seperate the US and Canadian markets - Canada will see tons of ENSEMBLE units, while the US will be more targeted towards barebones.

Good news! I'm strongly considering getting one this summer! Have been watching the Asus notebooks for over a year now and my desktop is slowly becoming obsolete.

I like the array of ports and connections but... 6.1 lbs for a 14.1" screen? ouch!

This is for those who have may not seen it already.

Ok guys, thanks to someone on NBR for pointing out this website. this is a MUST see for all A8jm people. ALOT of pics plus the REAL WEIGHT is 5.56 lbs!!!! This is equal to the W3J!

If that link does not work use this.

THis laptop looks like a Sony laptop to me, nice and silver, sexy! I would say its on PAR with the looks of the W3J, and its alot cheaper!

    This is a definate winner.

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

    thanks for the link, mysticgolem.

A lot of people are misquoting the weight of the A8JM. Which will cause a lot of people to consider another laptop. The weight is perfect for a laptop packing an MXM video card.

    Thanks for the linkage, MG...

WTF? The specs on the review site suggest it's a WXGA+ display? I'm confused again... if it does turn out to be WXGA+, I wants one...

Thanks. I am hoping that at the end of summer, after working, I have enough money left over from paying tuition etc to get one.

If not the A8JM maybe then its barebones brother.

They have 3 locations IIRC, one in Markham, one in North York....and I forget where the last one is. I've only been to the Markham one(Warden/Steeles) and it's fun playing with the models they have on display ;)

I see that the milestone site says they're branching into USA in June or July. Would you also take preorders for customers from USA? I assume if you do, the price would be the equivalent for USD (~1500)?

I do receive e-mails from US consumers from time to time asking me to ship to US, including Asus, Acer and LG, before I always said no because of the hassle of crossing the boarder, if I can see more and more people with similiar ideas with you, I might consider to open the US office earlier, let me watch for another short peroid of time and decide.
