This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Sorry to make a full thread about this, but I haven't had much luck resolving this.

    Sometimes when I take my laptop out of Hibernation I get the followig error message:

    Research leads me to believe that this is caused by the MSBlaster worm that was floating around in 2003. However, I haven't been able to find any signs on the worm on my computer and the error message appears totally at random, sometimes popping up when I come out of hibernation, other times it doesn't.

    I did some full system virus scans (using AVG) and downloaded symantics tool specifically for this virus. Both didn't find anything. The MS updates that supposedly protect against this are already bundled into my XP SP2 disc. I dunno.

    Any thoughts?
