one of my friends insisted that I leave heavy downloading and gaming to a desktop and use a laptop for other purposes, such as writing, work and browsing. In anycase I'm now pondering which integrated graphics Asus would be best then. Since I prefer to keep it under $1200, it probably will rule out some of the smaller ones, and leave the 14 and 15'4 models as options, which I don't mind either because I like a nice, large screen.

From configurations done at ProPortable and Geared2play, it seems the A6u and Z70A can fit this range, and possibly the older M3 (which i'm guessing will be replaced by the Z61?). Also in consideration are any other Asus with integrated graphics that can meet this need.. the A6ne mentioned previously seems good too..although I don't see it being sold anywhere yet.

what would be a good choice for an integrated graphics solution that will be used for websurfing, downloading, old gaming (that won't really demand much gpu power), and dvd watching. I'm pretty sure all of them can do this..but what owuld make one more preferable than the other..at the moment i sort of lean towards the A6u since it comes with a 2 year warranty for under $1200..

Both models may fit the bill, so it's a toss up. I'd prefer the Z70a, but if you're an AMD guy, the A6u is a nice set up.

The A6ne can be ordered at any time, we have some coming in, but didn't put them on the site yet, you could always email or call me and I can help you on that if that's something you'd be interested in.

    Thanks,
