It doesn't matter how, but i have a chance to upgrade one component of my laptop - A6KT.

Si i figured i have to chose between either a HDD or more RAM.

    1. HDD - i currently have an IBM 80GB 4200rpm drive. It's performance is bearable though. I was thinking of replacing it with a Toshiba 120GB 5400rpm drive - bigger and faster, and reviews make it to be a good performer among other 5400 drives.

    2. I currently have 1GB of RAM. I could swap one module for a 1GB Crucial stick, giving me a total of 1,5GB.

To be honest, i'm kinda leaning towards the HDD, though now, if i think about it, 1,5GB of RAM sounds really nice, considering Vista and the few games i might play on the notebook. :)

What do you suggest i should do? What would you upgrade?

I suggest to go for the extra memory instead of the HDD. Personally i think that will give you more performance boost then a new HDD, especially with Vista.

I'm not saying i'll be going to vista anytime soon on my laptop, but i'm thinking ahead. I guess the RAM is more future proof...

Id go with the ram. Seems more logical to me at the moment.
