I was considering buying one of these but there is something that has kinda been bothering me.

    1. It looks like, from the pictures, like the touch pad is rough instead of smooth, and I was wondering if it is rough like the pic or if that is just the pics.
    2. How are the speakers on it? I noticed their positioned under the notebook, and I wonder if they sound bad when they're on a table for example.

If it's anything like the G1S then I can answer your questions.

There's a bit of a texture on the touch pad but it's by no means rough. It's pretty comfortable.

The speakers actually sound better when it's on a table in my experience. They're designed to bounce the sound off a surface. They sound pretty good if you're sitting in front of your computer but if you're sitting far away from it consider getting external speakers. The internal ones are just too weak.

Hey, I also have a question about the G1Sn-A1. I'm trying to decide to get the G1Sn-A1 or the M50SV-A1. I can see that they have many similar specs. I really do like the design and look of the G1Sn but I find that alot of people are complaining about heating issues, as well as the case its self being outdated for the high heat components put inside.

Right now im siding with the M50 because of all the very cool features, but I do have to admit the dark black look of the G1S really appeals to me. It also looks a little less flimsy than the M50 but that could just be my eyes.

Can anyone give me some guidance on which one is really the better laptop?

The G1S and M50 are of approximately equal gaming power. The G1S will have less RAM, a lower-speed processor, a higher resolution than the M50. It also has a much bolder style element to it. I get compliments all the time on my G1S-A1, but I think that it's because I keep mine in such good repair compared to other people.

The heat in a G1S is substantially greater than, say, an HP Pavilion. It is manageable, however. I can see how some people with sensitive fingers might feel uncomfortable.

The speaker situation is this: the G1S speakers do not work for watching a movie with 6 friends, even when it's on a desk in front of you. For individual working, when I am doing assignments and I want to listen to music, I put the volume on the lowest setting and it's at the right volume. That's my two cents. :)

I personally think you'd be happy with either the G1S or the M50.

That built in light sensor looks pretty cool but the 3dmark score looks like it's lower than the G1S-A1. I might be wrong but the native resolution looks like it's lower too.

Well the only difference I can find between the G1Sn and the M50Sv, aside form the price, is that the M50's processor is faster, and the G1Sn had a 64 bit OS, 4gb of RAM, a bigger battery, and a higher resolution. So would the slower processor of the G1Sn bottleneck its performance, or does it really make all that much of a difference for gaming?
