Firstly, i presume you mean the g50vt with the 9800gs, compared to the g50v with the 9700gt.

I'm going to be buying the vt in a few weeks, and from my understanding its only a tad faster, but well worth the investment.

    9800gs vs 9700gt
    unified shaders: 64 vs 32
    memory bus: 256 vs 128
    process(nm) 55 vs 65
3dmark06: 8200 vs 6244 (grain of salt, according to notebookcheck, cant guarantee they are same settings etc)

as far as reviews, their are several done with the g50v, but i've only seen one with the g50vt, and its reviewer did a poor job on the gaming benchmarking(using very low resolution etc).. the above review(post above) is the review i mean, 1024x768? ew. - if you believe the 3dmark06 is any indication of their comparison, then theirs plenty of information for you, however i prefer to then see how games actually run.

I'd suggest going with the vt, though im not sure on the price difference, as in Australia, its only a couple of hundred dollars difference i believe, which is peanuts in AU$. Tis a shame quad core, and clevo arent cheap in Aus.

The 9800M GS is in a different league to the 9700M GT. 3dmark isn't really important, its synthetic. Real game performance, 9800M GS wins hands down!

hmm sounds nice.. the only bad thing is , that there is no german keyboard layout for the g50vt :/ but ithink the g50v keyboard should fit too?

I guess that's very likely (that the G50V keyboard will work).
