You got the A1? Yeah.
Do you have integrated TurboMemory module? What is your BIOS Version?
And is there an option for TurboMemory (Robson) in your BIOS (under IDE config or something like this)?
I got the V1S here and put a module in myself but it isn't recognized.
Your scores are pretty much the same as mine, I got 2939 3DMarks and 4.5VEI because of the desktop graphics but I got 5.1 for my Ram. -
Thanks for the info Ken!
Though images of the notebook would be great as well, as it's harder to portray a notebook's physical form through images then their hardware through benchmarks, etc. -
Ken,
Can you do a similar test with a G1S?
I'd love to see a side by side comparison done this way (V1S versus G1S). -
-
-
-
Hm, I wonder why my TurboMemory module isn't recognized. I don't want to open my laptop again, so I'm very interested if your BIOS is different from mine.
-
Ken -
Do you have any V2s in stock? I'd really really like to see how the 6 cell battery does in V2s without the bugs in V2Je that I keep reading about. Sorry for going off topic a bit.
Thanks. -

-
No it is the European version. I put the module in but it is just not recognized and there is no bios option.
EDIT: OK this means that you have the same bios. And you also have only the choice of 'Enhanced' and 'compatibility' SATA mode?
Damn... It seems that my TM module doesn't work... -
-
But it needs to recognize it at first and it doesn't...
-
-
Did it ask you for the driver? Or dit you have to start the installation manually?
There is no Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip unfortunately. -
But I've install the Turbo Memory on other machines and I don't remember it ask for driver. -
That is what it looks like on my computer after installing the TM drivers and rebooting:

Looks like the V1S's have finally reached resellers. The V2S's shouldn't be far behind
-
-
Ken, can we get some pictures and screenshots?
-
-
If you've got the time would you compare and contrast the V1s vs. the C90s?
It would be good to hear your impressions of each. -
thanks for all the work Ken! appreciate it!
-
Ken is going to be a busy man!
-
I love you Ken!!!!!
Um, in other news...I'd appreciate your impressions of each too Ken.
Thanks -
Well I don't think the V1S will be quite as graphically powerful as the G1S owing to the V1S's GDDR2 memory. However, I think it will make up for that with its lighter, thinner, and sleeker body as well as better battery life and better build quality.

Some pictures uploaded on page one.

Cheers, thanks Ken!

Wow, Ken, thanks for the pics, especially the one comparing the G1S and V1S side by side. I've seen the G1S in person and it's not quite what I wanted, but it's nice to see that the V1S is significantly less bulky looking when placed next to it.
It looks so nice!
I still can't decide between the V1S and V2S though. -
to be honest I was installing/uninstalling so many programmes I did not notice any difference before and after I enabled turbo memory. it would be nice if someone could do some benchmarks (PC mark) on their new stock V1s to see if there is a difference.

It still lets me use SD SD cards for ReadyBoost. :-(
-
wow FEAR looks nice!

Full Motion Audio Notebook Enthusiast
Is it possible for you to check the firewire chipset? I'm planning to buy a new laptop soon and I need one with the Texas Instruments firewire to use with my pro audio interface.
Thanks -
How's the bundle with this thing? Does it include a HDMI -> DVI adaptor?
I've already ordered the V1S myself, and want to be able to use it via DVI from day one -
There was no such Adapter in my bundle.
Firewire is from TI. -
Cool. Definitly looks good.

wow! That means buying TM doesn't help?
I would like to know any opinion....
Turbo memory helps or not? -
With 2GB of RAM I can't imagine it being of any use. -
Thank you Bona Fide, I just order my G1S (delivery day set for next Monday) with it...waste of money...

good point of view ...
we got hopes then -
Here is the detail test result comparison table:
-
Looks like it slows every aspect of the system down.

except for 3D-pixel shader....haha

The Physics and 3D, Transparent Windows, Graphics Memory, and Multi-Thread tests (except for Image Decompression, Memory Latency, and File Encription) seem to be a big enough difference to be of significance, but the other stats could just as easily go the other way.
Ken, are those numbers consistent if the tests are run multiple times, or does it fluxuate? (If you've run those more than once for each). Did you try running it multiple times in a row with Ready Boost enabled to see if it starts to cache the data in the memory like it was apparently designed to do? Also is there a way to enable one while disabling the other to see if one is more to related for the preformance drop than the other? -
Yes I've done the test several times and got the same result, I can run it again right now but let me reboot the system 3 times before I run the test again.
I even tested with just Ready Boost Enable and Ready Drive disable with same result.
I wouldn't say it's completed useless, maybe it really help on some sub-notebooks with slower HD like 1.8" 4200rpm, but with V1S this powerful the Trubo Memory seem slow down the performance since it kind of take over the components that is faster than Turbo Memory. -
Here is the new test result with some changes:
