If you mean 'ship' date, No. My current understanding, is anywhere in the 3rd to 4th week of January. I expect we will see an official announcement, coming from CES.... and from then on, more info and press.

Hey, striker do you have any info on the thermal solution employed in the g73, is it the same old g72 chassis and cooling with new components?
if it is, isnt it going to be a problem, notebookcheck reports in their stress test of the g72 the procesor and gpu went upto 99 and 102 degrees Celsius repectively. This might have smaller fabrication, but GDDR5 is gonna heat just as much and couple that with an i7, both being cooled by the same fan, i see a problem with the heating unless they've done somethin about it..
so, back to original question, any info on the thermal solution employed, is it the same old or new and hopefully capable of cooling effectively?

 

That 5870 is going to curbstomp the rebadges nVidia has been throwing our way.

I also hope the cooling is revamped, if not completely then at least improved some. It's unacceptable to have such powerful components and only one fan.

Of course, I'd like to see how the more adventerous owners mod it.
