I play wow on my g51 on 25man raids and its most of the time great, sometimes does dip down depending on the encounter, but overall it has good frames in most fights. Maybe its drivers, try some others like NVIDIA GeForce v186.82 WHQL Drivers, could be the cpu, but it should be fine else we would see complains from a lot, since wow its a very popular game.

OK thank you, im going to dl this and get back to you and see if it helped

C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\vo8iUgwQ.cab.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Did you click open or save when you were dling it? maybe you cant see it cause you dont have any 3rd party software like winrar or 7zip?
-
yea i hit save, it finally dled all the way, but when i open it i havnt the slightest clue what to do lol (complete tard about comps) i get a ton of icons but idk where to extract them too

I usually use a mouse with my G60Vx, but today I've been stuck with the trackpad, and it's driving me nuts--how do you disable the auto-click feature on this machine? I can't find it in the settings anywhere.....
-
-
Of course! Every time I got to that point in the menu I was clicking on the + to expand, and wasn't getting the option to disable/enable tapping altogether. I guess I needed some instruction to make me realize there might be something else to find there-- thanks!
-
Anyway, is there any clear differences between the X9100 and QX9300? Gaming i doubt, but more complex multi-tasking should benefit the QX9300.
PS: i have found some ES CPU's for like 250 USD shipped, Q9100/Q9200 series on ebay. I would choose an ES quad cpu, only because of the 12M cache memory and better general performance. But it's a risk testing something I can't guarantee it will work. -
hey guys...i just bought Asus g60vx and was wondering....if I want to upgrade the CPU and consider price to performance ratio...is P9500 is the best one to get or some T-series processor? thanks
-
-
I appologize if this has been asked before.
1. Is this model having issues with wifi connectivity?..And can it be upgraded?
2. Is it possible to put a bluetooth module in this laptop?
3. How is the screens viewing angle?
4. Down the road what are my options for upgrading the processor?
Thank You. -
What coolers do everyone use for their notebook?
-
Sorry to double-post, but this laptop is on sale for $849.99 at best buy right now.

Hmm...darn, well that's definitely a good sort of basic gaming system. I just hate how slow the CPU is.
-
-
Question though, inexperienced with Best Buy, is the "outlet" price only available online or will it be $849.99 at B&M stores too?
-
It's possible it's lower in store too. They've usually been the same or roughly the same-occasionally a store will actually go lower.
$900 was already a clearance price. It started at possibly $1000, though it may have been more than that. -
Was in best buy yesterday, there was none(G60vx) on display so we opened one up and plugged it in, i was thinking of picking it up but then the gal who was helping me spoke up about their return policy stating if i didnt like it i had two weeks to bring it back for an exchange..
I said what? An exchange? I cant get my money back?
She said NO, only an exchange for something else in the store.
I laughed...then i laughed some more..
I said here box that up and put it back on the shelf.
How in Gods name did this bullsh*t retail company end up being the last one standing?
They have the biggest balls of any company i know of, i hate best buy with a passion, yet theyre the only game in town where i reside.
this is the same company i fought with when i bought a $500 dollar ati 9800pro back in the day and took it back and they refused to give me my money back, they informed me id receive it in 7-14 business days via check in the mail.
Unbelievable.. -
Will I be able to upgrade this computer to a Q9000 or higher?
-
Nope.
Best you can do is a X9100 or T9900 in this model. -
-
You shouldn't need software for that-just look at the specs.
-
-
-
hi, does all G60VX variant comes with extra HDD cage? one seller selling with 320GB only. thanks.
-
Dang, if only that Best Buy model had a quad :-D
EDIT: Deleted info I mis-wrote. -
thanks wolfpup
-
look at post #648 for some benches, temps amd GFX card -
-
Whoa! Best Buy has an updated model! Nice price, nice specs. It's a (slow) Core i5 with Geforce GTS 360 for $1000! LED backlighting too.
Nice deal...except I have to seriously expect this to be hit by the BSOD problems the G51j/jx series has had. If not for that, I'd VERY seriously consider buying one at that price. -
-
Thanks, I'll look for it!
-
Now if I could just do some mouse click voodoo and make my speakers start working again, even though they sucked. But alas, I think I got a copy with the failing headphone jack.
Sorry for the mini rant. I love the machine except for the speaker issues/quality (and lack of even a basic operating manual). -
I have this laptop but my idle temps are too high for me. I idle at 64, and i am using a cryo cooler. Are there any drivers proven to help lower temps that i could download?
-
@Taryel:
The 186.82 drivers have helped lower the temps of many people including myself. You could try that. -
-
Have you guys reported that behavior to Nvidia? It sounds like something they could fix in a future driver revision.
-
Hey G60 laptop forumers. I just bought this laptop and I love it! It plays everything i have ever put on it with maxed or very high settings with respectable frame rates without overclocking. But i have one question, what can I upgrade on it? I would like to get a better processor and maybe a slightly better graphics card. Help anyone?
-
Like virtually all notebooks, you can't upgrade the GPU, though it's already close to the best available, so that's not a huge deal. The CPU is at least somewhat upgradeable, but IMO it's better to get it with what you want to begin with.
-
I put a T9900 in mine and it flies!
You can add more RAM,and another HDD too.
I just did the CPU since 4GB's of RAM is more than enough for gaming and the HDD is good stock.
See -
did you also upgrade the RAM? cause i dont think the rbbx05 is gddr3...
-
No RAM upgrade.
Everything you see is stock besides the CPU upgrade. -
is the BIOS already compatible with the t9900? or will i have to change it? for give the stupid question but i'm not very computer savvy.
-
Just your basic plug and play.
Very easy just don't forget to use a good thermal paste. -
-
hey guyz!! i have the Asus G60VX-RBBX05 for almost 4 months playing aion online every day haha.
but i have a doubt, can i upgrade the ram? i know that the laptot have 4 gb, can i put 4 gb more? and what kind of memory i need? 4 gb ddr2 800 mhz for laptops??
and im almost sure that this laptop can use 2 hdd, is that true? im thinking about buying a 500 gb 7200 rev 2.5 sata150. is that correct??
thabk you!!! -
And i think you should be able to install up to 8gb, but imo not worth it, unless you into video editing and encoding, i yet to see any game using my full 4gb. But it will be extremely expensive probably around half of what your laptop went for, the 4gb modules are still very expensive. The G73 and i think the G51JX-A1 have 4 banks so its cheaper to go 8gb. -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
RAM is, at stock, configured at a 2x2GB configuration. So you can put some 4GB sticks to bring up your total RAM. However, like Abula said, it's not worth it for the average bear.
The second HDD bay can be used without a second bracket. However, I feel much safer with the actual caddy holding it down.
The caddy is in stock.
And, hooray, so is the spare bottom plate.
